With over 20 years of industry experience, I started at the bottom. I learned about the flowers and the way they are processed to ensure the freshest, longest-living floral pieces. Using my multiple art and design degrees, I have trained and exercised my mind to think outside the box, staying current on industry trends while creating my own. I worked in a floral wholesale house, where I cleaned buckets and processed flowers. Eventually. I became the Designer of Arrangements, which allowed me to compete in state and national contests. Earning third place in my first five competitions, I won the Nation Floral Design Competition four years in a row. From there, I moved to Las Vegas and became one of ten Head Floral Designers, an opportunity that allowed me to create multiple floral art installations of fresh floral for four upscale restaurants and three of the major lobbies on the Las Vegas Strip (Bellagio, MGM Grand, and Aria). I have worked together with some of the largest and most well-known floral designers from around the world. A famous floral designer once told me, “Joe, there are floral designers that work from a book and just pick out designs, and then there are designers like you who make the books.” This stuck with me, pushing me to innovate along with my passion for floral design.
